“I came that you might have life and that more abundantly.”
Jesus Christ Circa AD 28

Abundant life is not just about an abundance of things. It is about peace, joy, and good relationships. It means we have a good sense of our personal identity and worth in God. It is about thriving in life instead of just enduring it.

It happens to everyone at one point or another. We feel stuck. We can’t seem to get past something, and it keeps us from moving forward in our lives. There are times when every Christian needs some sort of Christian counseling. But you should not associate that with laying on a couch and someone asking

how you feel about everything. The sad fact is that most people have never been taught how to overcome life issues that weigh them down. Counseling isn’t as much about telling you what to do but helping you discover the things that are holding you back. Helping you set goals and create strategies to move forward.

When it comes to helping people get “unstuck” and start forward progress in their lives there are three types of Biblically based counseling that I use.

  • Pastoral Counseling entails providing Biblical wisdom for basic Christian issue and problems. Consider it a form of discipleship. It is usually short term and doesn’t involve a lot of psychological insight and tools. It is more about helping a person discover what God says about how to live their Christian life. There is no cost for Pastoral Counseling.
  • Christian Counseling combines Scriptural Pastoral Counseling with solid biblically based psychological principles and tools to help the Christian believer live a rich, rewarding life of faith in Jesus Christ.  The truth is that most successful psychological principles are Biblically based. We might categorize this as someone with hurts, hangups or habits. This type of counseling is usually regular and longer termed. We look at the issues, goals, and strategies for long-term transformation. I provide one free 60-minute session to help you and me evaluate where you are at and where you want to go. If we both believe that ongoing counseling is for you, we will set up a schedule-usually weekly. The cost is $50 per hour.
  • Christian Life Coaching is not so much about dealing with the past, but dealing with your future. I work with you as a team member to plot a course of progress in your life by helping you determine where you are at and where you want to go. Then we work to help you set goals based on what we discover. From there we develop strategies to get you from here to there. Once those things are established weekly or monthly sessions will focus on how you are doing in working your plan and achieving your goals. The cost is $50 per hour.
